My last trip to Fabulous Las Vegas was back in December 2019 with a wonderful stay at my favorite MGM Grand. I had no idea that would be my last trip to Las Vegas for 18 months.
The COVID-19 virus arrived at stateside a few weeks later in January 2020. I thought the coronavirus disease would be contained and I went ahead and book 3 more trips to Las Vegas. However, I was so wrong! The virus got worse! We had a nasty, demonic POTUS who "dismissed" the disease and called it a "hoax". The coronavirus was a very very deadly disease with devastating death tolls worldwide.... hence the pandemic of 2021.
All of my trips were cancelled as we entered a needed lockdown for public health safety and to control the virus. The lockdown took place for about 17 months.
We here in the US received an effective and promising pandemic control plan from our wonderful President Joe Biden in January 2021. President Biden implemented an effective vaccination strategy in January 2021. I was fully vaccinated in February 2021. Coronavirus infection and death rates began to fall drastically by March 2021. I watched the metrics carefully. With more US citizens getting vaccinated, I was confident to book my 1st trip to Las Vegas by May 2021. I took my first trip to Las Vegas in June 2021... 18 months after my last trip. It was fabulous!!!
My blogs are focused on my Las Vegas travels during the near end of the pandemic. Just remember, there are new emerging variants of the deadly virus. This ain't over yet. The pandemic remains.
